CUSTOM CURATED FOR YOU!
Holiday storage may seem a bit complicated. We have garland, wreaths, breakable figurines and lights. It can become overwhelming on how to store these items. Do you store like with like? Do we store it based on room by room? Not sure what to do?
We like to store our Christmas decor using a bit of both methods. If your space is limited it is not always possible to have room by room storage. For example, if you have lots of garland though out your home, on the stairway, over a door frame , cabinet, table or mantle it becomes overly complicated to have the right size bin for the right size garland.
We simply love to use under bed storage options for garland. We tag the garland where it came from using tags or a simple twist tie and card attached. That way we know what was the top and what is the bottom of the railing and which room it came from or how it was used.
If space is at a premium, we love to use under-bed storage containers for garland. If you have a low profile bed we suggest options without hard sides.

Wreaths come in a variety of sizes and sometimes the right size storage is hard to find. There are some great wreath options we found this year on Amazon and some great priced hard sided wreath cases at Canadian Tire. The trick with wreaths is finding the right size. large wreaths and large cases can become expensive, so we found that hard sided for smaller wreathes and larger wreaths worked well in soft sided covers. These could be placed onto of your your holiday bins or on a shelf or under a bed.

Tree ornaments can be tricky to store. The ornaments can be a variety of shapes and sizes. Accommodating these can be a bit tricky. We recommend wrapping them in tissue and placing these in the awesome divided storage containers. They have divided sections for the tree ornaments and larger side sections for larger items and tree toppers. Its a great way to keep your entire trees contained by theme or room.
I think these are my favourite with the pull out trays for ornaments and the pockets and the larger compartments inside. You could also use a plastic bin. The trick is packing it properly so you have no breakage and estimating the right size of bin to keep one trees ornaments all together. If the bin is too large, then it can become too heavy. Better to use 2 50L totes than a large unmanageable bin. Easier to store too!
For Christmas lights, there are tones of gizmos and gadgets to keep your lights untangled. Well save your money I say. Just cut a sturdy piece of cardboard to wrap your lights around. Once they are wrapped around the cardboard, place them vertical in your tote like you would a file cabinet. - Don’t forget to mark them with a tag so you remember where they came from.
Lastly don’t forget the tissue for wrapping all your treasures.
Be sure to label everything. That way next years Christmas set up is a breeze!
