As New the new Year is quickly approaching it is a great time to stop, think and reflect on the past year.
Good-by to 2013!
Some things I like to ask myself:
- What would I do different if I could?
- Did I do the best I could with what I had to work with?
- Is there something I can do better?
- Did I reach my goals?
- What do I need to change and what do I need to keep the same?
New years is a good time for self reflection of the life we are creating for ourselves. Are we continually choosing to stay in Chaos? Are we loving to the fullest? What are the things we need to change to create the best life ever?
There is always something we can do to create a better life. We can always make different choices. If we choose to stay stuck, we are forever stuck until we make the choices to change. No one is going to do that for us and believe it or not, taking NO ACTION is really a choice to stay stuck and a choice to choose inaction.
So how do we manage to make change come about in our lives? We have to take a chance. We have to do things we have never done before. We have to put it out there and just trust everything will work out. We need to overcome fear!
When we take a chance and believe and trust, followed by action things just happen to fall into place. Funny how that works. If we stay stuck, make the choice to do nothing, our lives do not change. The same things continue.
I believe the new year is a great opportunity to make decisions. Decisions on how we are going to live our lives. Who we are going to spend time with. What we are going to do? Most of all what choices am I going to make to bring about change.
Once we make the change, we need to figure out how are we going to create ever lasting positive change. Ideally it would be great to have all the answers but realitsticaly just making change is hard enough.. figuring out lasting change is a process I believe.
5 important things to think about for the New Year!
How can I live a healthier life?
What does that look like? More exercise? More fruits and vegetables? More Water? Maybe all of the above.
What is really important to me?
Is it material stuff? Friends and family? Health? Remember that sometimes when we have it, we take what ever it is for granted and we need to nudge ourselves as a reminder to what is REALLY important.
What am I grateful for?
How can I improve my gratitude? Are the things you are grateful for all material things? OR are they friendships, family, Health etc.
What is the one thing I can do consistently that will change my life and bring me closer to my goals?
Is it walking everyday? Calling a friend to create better relationships? Is it reducing my personal clutter to live in a clutter free space?
What are my priorities?
List them, see them written down. is it to mend a relationship? Loose weight? Have better Health? Get Organized? Ask for help when I need it? Maintain my space better? Travel the world, Love more?
What ever your priorities, set them out, look at them, ponder them and prioritize them. Begin to master them one at a time. Repetition is key! We become a master of what we focus on.
One of the things I do that I just LOVE to do before the new years rolls in is to thouroughly clean my house! Top to bottom! I like it to shine like a new house. Before the end of midnight of 2013 my house will shine. The clutter will be removed, Everything will be in its place and I will open the new year with a open and willing heart, a clean home and peace of mind!
Happy New Year to all in 2014!
